Volunteers needed - Who's good at serving beer??
As you may know, We (Jackson Area Youth Baseball Association) have agreed to staff the Jackson Beer Garden on September 27th, from 3:30 pm - 9:30 pm. We currently have 4 open positions and really need more help. We can have as many as 10 volunteers that night. This event is a great way to give back and have a ton of fun. Plus everyone working gets THREE FREE DRINKS for helping out. Please register today.
Off-season, Co-ed baseball/softball skills camps are now available for kids ages 6-12. This program will consist of four, two-hour, hands-on instructor-led classes. The course objectives are to teach and reinforce the fundamental skills kids need to play baseball/softball. Also, we will work with each child individually to teach them the necessary pitching and hitting skills to help them transition to the next level. For each session, the kids will be divided up by age and skill set to facilitate one-on-one mentoring. Each class will focus on one particular aspect of baseball or softball for the kids to master. The four categories will be Throwing & Catching, Defensive skills, Pitching camp, and Hitting Camp. Equipment needed: tennis shoes, a tennis ball, and glove.
Camp Registration is through the Community Center. The cost is $40 per child for the entire program. The camps will meet the second Saturday of each month and will be held for four months (Oct., Nov., Jan., & Feb.). The program fee of $40 will enroll your child in all four sessions.

Good day to you all. We have some great events coming, and I wanted to make sure you were all aware of the details.
On Sept. 16th we will be hosting the Field Closing at Town Hall Fields. The field closing process is pretty straight forward and shouldn't take too long. We are looking for 10 or so volunteers to help out from 9:00 - 12:00. As you all know, we do have a volunteer REQUIREMENT, and if you have not fulfilled your commitment for 2017, you will need to finish them ASAP. There is a link created under the Registration tab, or click the link below.
Also, we have an upcoming JAYBA Committee meeting tomorrow night. The meeting will be held at Comfort Suites Hotel in Jackson. The meeting will start at 7:00 pm and should go for about an hour. We are looking for more help on the Committee, so please come to the meeting and see where you can pitch in.

Lastly, as you all know the Sprecher Oktoberfest Beer Garden will be coming to Jackson on Sept. 27th - Oct. 1st. This year JAYBA has volunteered to cover the shifts needed for Sept. 27th. All of the proceeds raised go to the Hickory Lane Inclusive Playground. We are looking for seven volunteers for the evening of Sept. 27th. Please plan to arrive at 3:30 - 9:30 to cover setup and cleanup. All volunteers will receive (3) free drink tickets for helping out.
Thanks again for an awesome season coaching our sons and daughters. As a token of our appreciation, the JAYBA Board would like to invite you to a NEW event. Starting this year, we will be doing an annual coaches golf outing to show our gratitude for your time and effort this past season. Thank you once again for an amazing year of baseball and softball in Jackson. It has been great getting to know some of you in the community and working with many of you in the concession stand or at the numerous JAYBA events. Thank you very much for embracing myself and Aaron and helping out when available.
I would like to add the Jackson area community is a great place to live and raise our children, and we have enjoyed getting to know some of you. One of the things I admire most about the community is the people; the people in Jackson are special. The people in Jackson are good people that work hard every day to ensure their families, friends, and community are well cared for. Thank you very much for all of you that volunteered in 2017. JAYBA thanks you and appreciates all your support and devotion to youth sports in Jackson, Wisconsin.
As you read this, the off-season is upon us, and the planning and preparation are well underway for next year. As part of that process, we look to the community to build the organization stronger. We have recently opened many new positions and are looking to expand our committee. Our goal is to increase the number of people participating while reducing the level of expectations and time commitment. We need your help to maintain and improve our association.
Our next meeting is at 7:00 pm on September 12, 2017. The meetings are often held at the Comfort Suites in Jackson. If you would like to attend the meeting or learn more about open positions and responsibilities, please call, text or email us. We are always available.
Greg Winn & Aaron Wollman
Co-Chairman of Jackson Area Youth Baseball Association
I hope you are all well and thank you again for all your time, effort and patience this year. I understand many of you may be making up missed games and your season is not over yet. For that reason I have scheduled the equipment drop off for July 30th at Town Hall Fields from 3:00 - 5:00 pm. Other members and I of the Board will be there to assist and mark it down. Additionally, if you are interested in becoming a Board member, we will be there to discuss opportunities and upcoming meetings.
The fields may be busy that night, JHawks is hosting a tournament over that weekend, but things should be a bit calmer in the afternoon. Also, if your child is looking to try out for JHawks, the tournament is a great opportunity to view the level of competitive play that is to be expected. If you need more information on try outs, please visit the homepage and click on the registration link, try outs will be occurring over the next couple of weeks.
If you have any questions or concerns with the timing of drop off, please let me know, and we can make other arrangements.
