Good evening I hope you are all doing well. I wanted to take a moment to provide you with an update on the offseason projects underway. We are deep into planning next year, and I think I can speak for all of us, we are all VERY excited about the improvements to come. We hope 2019 will be one of our best years yet and we are excited to share it with you.
We are working hard to improve many aspects of the league, first and foremost, Town Hall Fields. We are in the process of updating our field equipment, updating our equipment will allow our Field Operations Manager to get the fields ready faster and easier. To accomplish this goal, we have to make some changes to our field equipment. We are in the process of selling our John Deere 2210 Tractor with 200x front end loader. The tractor has about 550 hours and has been well maintained, we are asking $9,000. Please email if you are interested or know an interested buyer, $50 finder reward.
In addition to the field equipment, we are looking to upgrade several other aspects of our fields. The diamond lip cutting process is complete, and we will be re-grading the infields next spring. We have had both the infield diamonds and outfield grass treated for weeds. Lastly, we will be improving the landscaping around the scoreboards. With the help of one of our great new sponsors, CLS, we will install landscape rings, new mulch, and perennials to all of our scoreboards. A special thanks to our local sponsors.
The Camps are coming!!! Please sign up today, 10 person minimum, 20 person max. We have secured the services of former MLB pitcher Paul Wagner to provide an exclusive pitching camp opportunity for the bigger kids camp only. JAYBA and Paul Wagner will host a special camp member only clinic on Feb. 9th from 4:00 - 6:00 pm. Additionally, we have Steve Scheibe coming to provide a day of Defensive skills practice for the big kids camp in Jan. Steve, a Wisconsin native and coach in Wisconsin, has agreed to help teach next level defensive skills to our older kids in preparation for 2019. We plan to do everything we can to bring in some of the most talented local professionals to help teach baseball and softball. Volunteer coaches for the camp receive free camp registration. Email firstname.lastname@example.org to sign up.
That is it for now. If you have questions or concerns, please let us know how we can help.
I hope everyone is geared up and ready for school to start, I know I am. I wanted to take a minute to mention a special offseason program JAYBA is now featuring. In partnership with the Jackson Area Community Center, we are offering offseason skills camps for the second year in a row. For those of you that have participated in the past, the program has been modified slightly. This year we are offering two separate camps to help refine the instruction and direct the resources to the necessary skill sets for each individual group.
This instructional program will consist of (4) two-hour hands-on instructor-led classes. The course objectives are to teach and reinforce the fundamental skills kids need to play baseball/softball at the TBall or Rookies level. We will work with each child individually to teach them the necessary skills to help them transition to the next level. In-person registration and uniform fitting will also be held on February 9th during the camp for those wishing to register for Spring/Summer JAYBA Leagues. Registration opens January 1st.
